This isn’t just another vanilla corporate tax job in practice. Whilst it may have the same technical components, it is culturally very different. It’s a work smart, not long hours, place to work. The team has a family feel and it is run by an inspirational Lead Partner who is as invested in the welfare of the team as they are passionate about client service. They believe all team members have an individual role to play; the team members are all very different, but they complement each other and bring different things to the table. The team is structured so that you only ever work for 2 Partners at a time, so your workload is more manageable.
This is a highly successful professional services firm with a fantastic, multi-industry client base ranging from entrepreneurial private companies through to listed multinationals. There is enough breadth of work in the team for you to express a preference for things you’d like to do more of, or to start doing, and the Partners will try their best to accommodate this. There are huge amounts of advisory work in the team, and also some compliance, so if you have a preference, or enjoy doing both, the structure is there to make that happen.
The day to day work is a combination of UK domestic and international compliance and advisory, from OMB to big corporate issues, M&A and Transfer Pricing. You could be dealing with a US inbound one minute and then working on an EIS the next.
As a valued member of the management team, you will have some staff responsibilities alongside your client portfolio, ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner and to a high standard. You will also work alongside the Partners on business development initiatives and RfPs. As a Manager or Senior Manager, you are empowered to influence the structure and development of the team and the Partners encourage that.
The team is looking for someone ACA and/or CTA qualified who is commercial, risk aware, collegiate, and individual. The Partners want people to bring their real self to work, not a façade that you have felt you needed to build up in order to succeed. That is not necessary here. They want you to flourish by being yourself and offer the environment to support that accordingly. They believe that the best advisory work comes from knowing your clients well, so the ability to build strong relationships is key for them.
The firm offers excellent remuneration, as well as quality of life. They have a hybrid working policy, ideally office based for 2-3 days per week, but if your personal needs are something outside this structure, please still get in touch as for the right person they will try to make something work. They are also hugely flexible within the working day to allow for personal commitments.
If you are considering a move but would prefer an informal chat initially to decide if this opportunity might be for you before entering a formal recruitment process, they are very open to having an exploratory meeting.
